Notes about releasing

These notes apply to the stable version.

Before 1.2:
   - write announce-1.2

   - git add announce-1.2

   - Update version numbers and year in source

   - make distcheck

   - Check that tarball works

   - git tag 1.2.0

   - git push

   - git push tags

   - upload to web site

   - Update website

   - announcements:
     - freshmeat
     - twitter (sysprof, retweet)
     - gnome-announce-list
     - reddit/hackernews?
     - blog
